Your Questions, Answered

How do I know which service to book?
Not sure what to book? We’ve got you! You can schedule a complementary consultation with one of our stylists at one of our five locations to discuss your hair goals, current hair, and the best services to achieve your desired look. If you’re still unsure, our team is always happy to help guide you when booking.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your first appointment is all about getting to know you and your hair! Your stylist will discuss your hair, history, goals, maintenance, preferences, and inspiration before creating a personalized plan for you. We want you to leave feeling confident, beautiful, and excited about your hair.
What services does 209 Salon and Extensions Studio offer?
209 Salon Salon offers a full range of hair services, including cuts, styling, blonding, balayage, highlights, dimensional color, color transformations, glosses, treatments, Brazilian, blowouts, and keratin treatments, and our own custom in-house hair extensions. Our stylists specialize in creating customized looks based on your individual hair goals and lifestyle.
What does a Cuts & Styles service include?
Every cut in style service includes a personalized consultation, shampoo, haircut, blow dry, and finished style. Your stylist will customize your cut and style to complement your hair type, face shape, and personal style.
Can you correct previous color or box-dyed hair?
Yes — color correction or box-dyed hair can be more complex depending on your hair’s history, condition, and desired result. We’ll evaluate your hair during a consultation and create a realistic plan to get you as close to your desired look as safely as possible. Some transformations may require multiple appointments to protect the integrity of your hair.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that things come up! We ask that you provide at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to a 50% service charge, while cancellations within 24 hours or missed appointments may be charged 100% of the scheduled service.
Do I need a consultation before booking?
All consultations are complimentary and aren’t required for every service, but it is highly recommended for major color changes, color corrections, extensions, and other transformations. A consultation allows your stylist to assess your hair, discuss your goals, and determine the best plan for achieving your desired result.
Do you require a card on file to book an appointment?
Yes. A valid credit or debit card is required to secure your appointment. Your card will only be charged according to our salon policies, such as applicable, cancellation or no-show fees.
What if I'm not happy with my results?
Your satisfaction matters to us. If you're not 100% happy, contact us within 7 days of your appointment and we'll schedule a correction. Issues raised after 7 days are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Do you offer a discount for first-time guests?
Yes — new guests receive 15% off their first service, plus an additional 15% off any retail products purchased during that visit. It's our way of welcoming you to the 209 family.
Do you have a referral program?
We do — our Refer a Friend program gives both you and your referred guest 15% off. Existing guests receive 15% off their next service, and the new guest gets 15% off their first visit.
What is the difference between a Balayage and a Highlight?
Both balayage and highlights can create beautiful dimension, but they’re created differently. Balayage is a hand-painted technique that creates softer more natural, looking dimension with a blended, seamless grow-out. Highlights are typically brought closer to the root, creating a brighter, more consistent pieces throughout the hair. Because highlights are placed closer to the root, they typically require more frequent maintenance, while balayage offers a soft grow out and can often be maintained with less frequent appointments. Not sure which is right for you? Your stylist can help determine the best technique based on your desired look, natural hair, color, maintenance, preferences, and hair history.
What products and retail do you carry?
We use professional Wella and Schwarzkopf color lines in the salon to create customized, beautiful results for every guest. For at home-care, we carry our exclusive CCIX retail line along with R&Co, giving you professional-quality products to help maintain and extend your salon results at home. Your stylist can recommend the best products for your hair type, goals, and maintenance routine.
